[Matthew 5:3]Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Just as the old saying goes 'Still waters run deep'. Jesus, who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage ,but he made himself nothing. For our sake he became poor,so that we through his poverty might become rich. In other words Jesus took the example of love for us, love is not self-centered but altruistic. Jesus’ humility and his capacity to love made everyone who is thirsty can come to him. Because of his gentleness he can sustain all our weaknesses. And in God’s sight, Jesus' nothingness fulfilled everything, therefore God exalted him to the highest place. Jesus performed his own word, 'if a kernel of word dies, it produces many seeds'.Only if we follow Jesus’s example, can we reap an abundant life.
Otherwise, if we take other ways such as pursuing worldly profit and strength to show our own glory, in the end the life will be like chaff that the wind blows away with nothing left.
Where is our focus now? On earth or in heaven? God has given us free will. Maybe everyday it is worthwhile to ponder this matter.
