The highly-anticipated iPhone 6 has been driving all kinds of rumors and speculations to pop up everywhere. Here we will paint a picture of the coming smarter phone according to the latest relevant reports. Not everything as follow will come true, but you will get an idea of what you can expect for iPhone 6.
1. Larger iPhone 6, Two Different Sizes
The most convincing rumor is that iPhone 6 will be the largest iPhone. In fact, people are increasingly hearing that Apple is actually working on not only one new iPhone, but two with different sizes - one with a 4.7-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch display.
2. Thinner Body
iPhone 6 might be a thinner than its predecessors, which is more convincing after Taiwanese pop star Jimmy Lin posted two iPhone 6 models on his Miniblog recently. Lin had released an image of the iPhone 5c prototype last year, which was proved to be a success when Apple launched the model in the market.
Other sources also claimed that the new iPhone will be 7mm thick. Without a doubt, it will be thinner, comparing current iPhone 5s with 7.6 mm thickness.
3. Increased Resolution
Apple will possibly introduce an increased resolution for the coming iPhone. To be specific, the 4.7-inch model will have a 1704 x 906 Retina display with a pixel density of 416 pixels per inch, while the 5.5-inch one a pixel density of 365.
4. Stronger Display
iPhone 6 might feature with a durable Sapphire display, in at least some models. Some people have speculated that Sapphire might be included only in the 5.5-inch version, not both models.
The Sapphire glass is more than twice as durable as Corning's Gorilla Glass, which the current iPhone’s displays enjoy. The glass is virtually scratched free, according to GT Advanced Technologies. It has been used for the iPhone 5s's Touch ID Home button and the cover of the iPhone's rear camera. The only thing is hard than Sapphire is diamond.
5. Upgraded Processor
iPhone 6 will reportedly boast a more powerful A8 processor from the Taiwaness company TSMC. Meanwhile, Samsung will continue to be involved in the production too.
6. iOS 8
iOS8, the new version of Apple's mobile operating system that was unveiled on 2 June at WWDC 2014, might be incorporated into iPhone 6. With new features, such as a new 'HealthKit' service, improvements to Notifications, Messages and so on, we believe that our apps can communicate like never before.
7. Release Date
Apple probably launches iPhone 6 between September and October, based on Apple's launch history and all kinds of rumors and speculations. More specifically, it is suggested all September 9, 12, 19 and 26 might be possible. However, only Apple knows the truth.
Just as iPhone 5c and 5s did, the two iPhone 6 probably have different prices. The larger 5.5-inch version will cost $299 with a carrier contract, while the smaller 4.7-inch one for the standard $199 on contract.
Higher price comes with additional features, such as a sapphire display, a 128GB storage option, and optical image stabilization, which might not be included in the cheaper version.
