While the iPhone 6 is on the way, Apple is dumpling old phones on eBay. If you are okay with a little bit older technology, you can buy an unlocked iPhone 5 from Apple with much less money than its original price.
It is reported that Apple has opened an eBay storefront called Factory Certified to selling “Certified Pre-Owned” iPhone 5.
The 16 GB version, in either white or black, is selling for $449, $200 cheaper than its full price, $100 cheaper than the current iPhone 5c, which has almost same specs and features.
The store also selling 32 GB and 64 GB iPhone 5, for respectively $479 and $499, but those sold out quickly.
Sales of the refurbished phones come with a one-year warranty, manual and charger included, and "final quality inspection by Apple."
The product descriptions say the refurbished phones have been "manufacturer refurbished," which means every handset has been "inspected, cleaned, and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and is in excellent condition," according to eBay terms of service.
All the iPhone 5 are unlocked GSM models, so the buyers could take them to AT&T or T-Mobile and get cheaper monthly service.
As of now, the store has 30 positive, 0 negative feedback comments since the first sale on June 27.
