Students at Seattle’s Eastside Catholic School have staged a sit-in protest over the firing of their vice-principal, Mark Zmuda, who was fired because he married man. His final day at the school is today, December 19th.

The school was required to fire Zmuda due to the archdiocese demands. Several hundred high school students filed into the cafeteria and refused to attend classes. Thanks to social media students are spreading the word and hoping other Catholic schools will partner in their protest.

A sister in the school explained to one of the students that Zmuda was not fired because he was gay, but because he chose to get married.
