A Neglected Fact: Porn Is Destroying Lives

Pornography addicts are in bondage—they’re slaves in the prison of their mind. So are you ready for some shocking numbers? Click on the Pornography Statistics: Annual Report 2013. The rolling odometer isn’t tracking miles, it’s tracking porn searches. After your eyes adjust to the ever-increasing number, scroll down and check out just how mired our culture has become. I’ve highlighted just a few.

The one thing porn stats can’t do is put a face to the problem. But with statistics like these we all know someone who’s addicted. It could be as close as the people you love—sons, daughters, husband, wife, grandchildren—their lives are slowly being ruined—they’re porn slaves.

These statistics reveal the severity, but God’s Word reveals the truth—without Christ we’re on sinking sand. And through Christ, we can overcome porn.

Programs like Covenant Eyes can help someone entrenched. Condemnation doesn’t help porn’s victims, but loving confrontation can be a rescuing hand extended into the pit of hell that is the mind consumed by porn. Come on, Christians, let’s rescue those Satan has enslaved.

"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline" 2 Tim. 1:7
