Black Christian News Names Dwight McKissic, Sr. 'Man of the Year' and La Shawn Barber 'Woman of the Year'

Christian Celebrities, the No. 1 daily black Christian internet newspaper, has named Texas pastor and author, Dwight McKissic, Sr., its 'Man of the Year' and freelance writer and blogger, La Shawn Barber, its 'Woman of the Year' for 2012. Four runners-up have been selected in both the men's and women's categories as well. The men include: Samuel Rodriguez, Tony Evans, Anthony Evans, and Russell D. Moore. The women include: Sophia A. Nelson, Dianna Hobbs, Joyce Meyer, and Priscilla Shirer.

The BCNN1 Man of the Year and Woman of the Year recognizes people of faith who impact culture and society with their Christian worldview. In Matthew 5, Jesus Christ calls His followers to be salt and light in the world. He states clearly, "Ye are the salt of the earth...Ye are the light of the world." recognizes the men and women who have been salt and light in an increasingly dark society.
